American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry partners with its members in advocacy efforts at the US federal and state levels to improve policies and services for children and adolescents with mental illness. The AACAP works to educate policymakers and administrators about issues affecting child and adolescent psychiatry and children’s mental health and regularly engage its members on pertinent legislation and regulatory activities.

Anxiety BC

Anxiety BC provides rich resources of self-help information and programs, as well as resources for parents and caregivers. Anxiety BC’s mission is to increase awareness, promote education and improve access to programs that work.

Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention

CASP’s ultimate purpose is to reduce the suicide rate and minimize the harmful consequences of suicidal behaviour. CASP works toward the achievement of its purpose by facilitating, advocating, supporting and advising, rather than by the provision of direct services.

Canadian Mental Health Association

The Canadian Mental Health Association promotes the mental health of all and supports the resilience and recovery of people experiencing mental illness. The CMHA accomplishes this mission through advocacy, education, research and service. CMHA branches across Canada provide a wide range of innovative services and supports to people who are experiencing mental illness and their families. One of the core goals of these services is to help people with mental illness develop the personal tools to lead meaningful and productive lives.

Reaching In, Reaching Out

Reaching In, Reaching Out (RiRo) creates evidence-based programs that teach resiliency thinking and coping skills to adults and young children under the age of 8 so they can REACH IN to life’s challenges and REACH OUT to other and opportunities that encourage healthy development. Self-injury Outreach & Support

As part of a collaboration between the University of Guelph and McGill University, SiOS is a non-profit outreach initiative providing information and resources about self-injury to those who self-injure, those who have recovered, and those who want help.

Healthy & Happy

SickKids’s 2013 Happy and Healthy Campaign is an endeavour to educate Canadians about the issues of mental health and provide families with the tools that help them foster a healthy and happy environment in which their children can learn and grow. This website has a game for children, youth and parents/caregivers to play together plus mental health tip sheets for issues ranging from ADHD to suicide prevention.

Transitions: Developmental Services Ontario – Central West Region

This site has information and worksheets for young people with developmental disabilities to help them plan as they move from high school life to adulthood. The services on this website can help people who live in Halton, Peel, Waterloo Region or Dufferin Counties in Ontario. This area is known as Central West Region.
